Review of The Fountain Inn - Lower Gornal

Saturday 17 November 2012
What a great place!
We have been here before but this was the first time for a meal, and we were not disappointed.
As always we were spoilt for choice for drinks - with the vast choice of real ales.
When the time came to choose a meal - wow! what a selection. The Fountain Inn is well renowned for its matrix of bangers and mash and gravy [ a total of over 1000 combinations] from 11 types of banger, 10 types of mash and 10 different gravies. However, on this occasion the 'Specials Board' was equally appealing. We opted for 2 T-bone steaks with all the trimmings and a good bottle of red wine - all for the princely sum of £25. A better bargain would be hard to find.
All in all a very enjoyable evening out We will be back the next time we are in the area.
